PCI Network Card Overview

ImageStream offers a wide range of PCI adapters for integration into networking products. On the LAN side, ImageStream offers support for token ring, 10/100 ethernet, and 10/100/1000 ethernet (UTP and fiber). On the WAN side, ImageStream offers interface support for PSTN dial-up, basic rate ISDN, sync serial (V.35, RS232, RS449, EIA530, and X.21), T1, E1, HSSI, DS3, E3, OC3/STM1, and OC12/STM4. ImageStream offers protocol support for PPP, multilink PPP, Cisco HDLC, frame relay and ATM, as well as raw IP and ASCII support for satellite and radar applications.

Support for ImageStream's PCI cards are integrated into the Industrial Series router platform. In addition, ImageStream offers stand-alone drivers that can be ported or integrated into your application. ImageStream PCI cards are tested extensively to guarantee real-world performance from Talahassee to Timbuktu.

The sections that follow provide an overview of ImageStream's PCI network cards.

LAN Cards
ImageStream LAN cards offer single port token ring, single and quad port 10/100 ethernet, and single port gigabit ethernet interfaces. Each card is integrated into ImageStream Linux and ImageStream's Industrial Series router platform to provide real-time statistics, and streamlined single-file configuration. ImageStream tests a wide range of commodity LAN cards to determine which chipset will provide the best possible price and performance. This testing helps to ensure that ImageStream LAN cards will achieve the specified performance objectives, eliminating the risk of development set-backs that can result from inferior hardware.

431-TE WAN Card
ImageStream's 431-TE single port T1/E1 adapter s the lowest-cost option for WAN and Internet routing applications. The 431-TE is a PCI 2.1 compliant adapter that can terminate fractional and full T1 or E1 circuits.

520 Series WAN Cards
ImageStream's 520 series PCI cards include options for 1 and 2 port sync serial, T1, E1, DS3 and E3 interfaces. The modular design of the 520 series increases the card's economy of scale by using a single base card with multiple daughter cards to provide a variety of physical interfaces. This design makes the 520 series one of the lowest cost WAN cards on the market.

530 Series WAN Cards
ImageStream's PCI 530 series network cards are low-cost PCI 2.1 compliant network adapters that support multiport T1/E1/J1 or DS3/E3 connectivity for WAN and Internet routing applications.

600 Series WAN Cards
ImageStream's 600 series PCI cards include options for 4 and 8 port sync serial, T1 and E1 interfaces. The 600 series supports DS0 channelization with up to 4 T1 or E1 circuits for multiplexing and telephony applications.

720 Series WAN Cards
ImageStream's 720 series PCI cards provide accelerated performance with one or two HSSI, DS3 or E3 ports. Each 720 series card includes an Intel i960 packet processor which reduces the number of interrupts generated by the card when receiving a high percentage of small packets. Laboratory performance tests have proven that 720 series cards are capable of delivering wire-speed performance with 64-byte packets.

800 Series WAN Cards
ImageStream's 800 series PCI cards provide options for 1 or 2 HSSI ports. The 800 series HSSI cards support data rates of up to 52 Mbps, and can be used with an external CSU/DSU for fractional or full DS3 or E3 lines.

1000 Series WAN Cards
ImageStream's 1000 series PCI cards provide ATM DS3/E3, OC3/STM1 or OC12/STM4 interfaces. Each card includes an ATM packet processor that accelerates ATM cell processing, and provides ATM QoS support in hardware. The DS3/E3 and OC3/STM1 cards provide a 32-bit 33 MHz PCI bus interface, while the OC12/STM4 card supports 32/64-bit 33/66 MHz operation.

1104-O3 WAN Card
The PCI 1104-O3 is the first interface card in the 1100 series, with four POS OC3/STM1 ports, and pluggable SFP transceivers which make it possible to mix and match multi-mode, single mode, and single mode long haul transceivers. The PCI 1104-O3 provides 32-bit PCI bus support that operates at 33 or 66 MHz.
