Optical Taps
ImageStream's passive optical taps are used to monitor fiber optic links in ethernet, SONET/SDH, and FDDI networks. ImageStream's optical taps are available in single, dual, and quad link versions with 50:50, 70:30, and 80:20 split options for multimode or single mode fiber optics. ImageStream's optical taps do not interrupt network traffic when the monitoring station is disconnected.
ImageStream's optical taps function as optical splitters that do not require a power source. The tap splits each half of the duplex photonic signal, sending a portion of the signal to the line and the remainder to the monitoring station. The optical taps provide duplex SC connectors, with two duplex ports for each line connection, and one duplex port for each feed to the monitoring station.
